How to: Start Microsoft Query.
Solution:
Select 'Get External Data...' from the 'Data' menu.
1) Select the 'Data' menu and select 'Get External Data...'. (The Select Data Source dialog box appears.)
NOTE: If the 'Get External Data' command does not appear on the 'Data' menu, Microsoft Query is not installed.
2) Select the data source to be accessed from the 'Available Data Sources' group.
3) Click 'Use'. (The Select Database Dialog box appears.)
4) Select the database to be used.
5) Click 'OK'. (The Add Tables dialog box appears.)
6) Select the tables containing the desired information.
7) Click 'Add'.
8) Repeat as needed for additional tables.
9) Drag the fields to be used in the query down to the data pane.
10) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Return Data to Microsoft Excel...'. (The Get External Data dialog box appears.)
11) In the 'Destination' box, type the reference for the upper-left cell of the range where the result set will appear.
12) Click 'OK'.
